New California Area Code 357

San Joaquim Valley's 559 Numbering Plan Area in California will, as of March 26, 2025 get an overlay NPA, covering the same locations and bringing mandatory 1+10 digit dialing in the area. Some cities served by area code 559 include Clovis, Fresno, Hanford, Madera, Tulare or Visalia.

Key dates

• August 26, 2024 - permissive 7/1+10 digit dialing begins (local calls originating in NPA 559 may be dialed using both 7 and 1+10 digits, the latter being encouraged)
• February 26, 2025 - mandatory 1+10 digit dialing begins
• March 26, 2025 - new area code 357 enters service
