The North-Western part of Florida, also known as the Florida Panhandle, with cities like Pensacola or the state capital Tallahassee, is currently served by area code 850. Starting next year, residents of the 18 counties covered by NPA 850 will start using a second area code 448 announced at the end of 2019. Local calls will be dialed using 10 digits.
