Missouri Area Code 235

Area code 573 covers Southeastern and parts of Eastern Missouri including these larger and smaller communities: Beulah, Cape Girardeau, Columbia, Farmington, Jefferson City or Poplar Bluff.

Starting March 2024 the new Numbering Plan Area 235 will be overlaid on NPA 573, completing the relief plan announced by the NANPA in a recent planning letter.

Key dates

• August 26, 2023 - permissive 7/10 digit dialing begins (local calls may be dialed using either 7 or 10 digits within NPA 573)
• February 24, 2024 - start of mandatory 10 digit dialing within NPA 573
• March 24, 2024 - new area code 235 enters service
