The somewhat less populated Northwestern portion of California, to the north of San Francisco, currently using area code 707 will soon get a brand new Numbering Plan Area Code. The new 369 NPA together with existing 707 NPA will form an overlay complex beginning February 1, 2023, both area codes covering the same geographic area.
Some of the cities and towns currently using area code 707: Fairfield, Mendocino, Napa, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Sonoma, Vacaville, Vallejo.
The new 369 area code's activation date is February 1, 2023. Currently, the dialing plan within NPA 707 is: 1+10 digits for both local and toll calls. The same dialing plan will be used with the new NPA's implementation.
